Twenty-three years after Hong Kong was handed by Britain back to Chinese rule, Beijing is pushing to implement tough new national security laws that will suppress the pro-democracy protests seen in the city.
It is believed to be the end of the handover deal where China agreed to the one country, two systems idea.
